WITH SUCH INTERNATIONAL BACKGROUNDS AND ACQUAINTANCES, ONCE MAURA LEVIT AND ZACHARY NEMES BECAME ENGAGED, THEY KNEW MIAMI WOULD CREATE A PICTURESQUE SETTING FOR THEIR UNION AND THEIR GUESTS. THEIR DESTINATION WEDDING AT THE ST. REGIS BAL HARBOUR BECAME THE PARADIGM OF THEIR REGAL VISION.

Acaricature is worth a thousand words. As Montreal native Zachary Nemes proposed to his Chicago-based girlfriend Maura Levit, he became inspired by their first trip. The first time Zachary took Maura to his hometown in the Old City of Montreal, they had an artist make them a caricature portrait. When the day of the proposal arrived, he had the artist draw him on one knee and once it was time to reveal the painting to Maura, he got down on that one knee and proposed.

When the wedding planning commenced, they realized they needed such a grand location and backdrop as the engagement per se. With friends and families coming from the United States, Canada, England, Russia and Israel among other countries, they wanted to create a destination wedding which would be easy to arrive to and most importantly, commemorate their regal affair. Thus, Miami became the no-brainer.

With 170 guests confirmed and Maura’s Monique Lhuillier wedding dress packed and ready to go, the couple embarked towards the St. Regis Bal Harbour. As the ocean view became the background of their chuppah, their ceremony produced striking details to make memories for a lifetime. Special touches included having Zachary wear his grandfather’s tallis during the ceremony. The groom’s pocket square was also a piece of Maura’s wedding dress, creating a profound unity between the couple and their two families.

Just after sundown, Zachary’s speech began in four different languages to address the diversity in the room. Guests felt appreciated and gratefully included in this regal affair. When Zachary broke the glass, a spectacular fireworks display ignited the sky, bringing all guests to cheer, “Mazel tov!”

The St. Regis Bal Harbour carried out the couple’s wishes and motto of the wedding: elegant, classy, and glamorous. Cascading orchids fluttered around centerpieces and delicate vases, along with a room full of romantic floating votives. With lavender, ivory and light pink hues throughout the venue, combined with silver pieces and some bright accents, the event became picture perfect.

Throughout the reception space, pastel florals and mercury candelabras sparked this amorous ambience, as the bride and groom’s guests celebrated the night away. Each aspect at the St. Regis was meticulously planned out, and the friendly staff accommodated all guests and the couple’s needs.

This venue, along with its talented team, delivered everything the couple desired in order to create a memorable destination wedding. From an impressive ice sculpture for everyone to toast, to delicate linens all around, all details were well taken care of, such as the silverware, which was synonymous with an haute cuisine restaurant. Above all things, the ambience in the air exemplified happiness in its purest form, as the room was filled with love.

For the couple and the St. Regis Bal Harbour, distance did not become an obstacle. The hotel, with its white glove service and attention to detail, was able to carry out this grand affair seamlessly, proving that a destination wedding does not need to be a headache or a challenge, but instead, an invitation to create something different and unforgettable.

When it comes to saying “I do,” picking a destination is much more than a location on the map. It signifies unity, appreciation to guests flying in from all corners of the world and planning out an unforgettable memory. Choosing the right hotel is as important as choosing the dress, as the venue and guests will create the atmosphere.

When this couple looks back at their wedding, starting from that caricature drawing, with a smile they will acknowledge that a drawing, a destination, and their guests are the precious diamonds that gave sparkle to their most important of days.
