Carefully curated, these sport and pampering getaways have been perfectly designed to meet the modern family’s expectations of refined luxury and international style. Meet the brilliant entrepreneur who created this brand after years as a successful venture capitalist and accomplished polo player.

Sun-bronzed, super fit and full of life, Toronto born Bobby Genovese never stops. From sitting atop a horse hitting a ball, to skiing around the world, to working on his business portfolio, there is little down time for this busy entrepreneur.

“I am up at 4:30 a.m. working the various time zones, and then I do a synopsis of my business when the markets open,” says Genovese, who is based on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and in Barbados, but travels constantly. “I also exercise and ride and I am on the phone with people. I work all night and love it. Working and having fun are the keys to my lifestyle.”

In 2013, Genovese launched BG Signature, his portfolio of exclusive luxury retreats, including his flagship property, BG Equestrian Resort in Ocala, Florida, a 100-acre destination with world-class stables, entertainment and lodging for traveling horse lovers. “Last year, we brought our exclusive services to clients,” says Genovese. “I personally enjoy getting people outside of their box and watching them do new things that challenge their lives.”

His guests, many of whom are corporate and visiting for business or part of a grand destination wedding, are slammed with activities from dawn to dusk. Choices are vast, from anything to do with horses and polo lessons, to biking, tennis, swimming, boating, and myriad more.

Genovese and his international staff train the work force to the level of five and six-star resorts. He also preserves the ecological resources at all destinations which are chosen because of their beauty and pristine natural habitats. Nothing is left to chance.

Genovese, who enjoys private jets and yachts to engage his glamorous lifestyle, loves to make the most mundane activity sparkle with fun, and one of his greatest passions is ensuring his zeal spreads to other enthusiastic people.

Raised by a single mom in Ontario, Genovese dropped out of high school and left home at age 16. He moved to Vancouver and earned his first million dollars about ten years later. He established the Investor Relations Group (IRG) in Vancouver, a multi-national business and asset consolidator, which focuses on small to mid-sized capital growth opportunities.

In 1995, looking at the bigger picture, he sold his interest in IRG and founded BG Capital Group Limited and BG Capital Management Corp., both are based in Barbados with associate management offices in the Bahamas, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver.

Classically designed accommodations range in different sizes for families and couples.

When he is not working or scoring goals on the polo fields, Genovese, who has two young children, loves to give back. In 2000, he launched Chukkers for Children’s Charities, a non-profit corporation that supports South Florida children’s organizations.

He is also involved with the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Canada’s largest and most sophisticated center for pediatric cancer research, treatment and care. Two years ago, he chaired their inaugural Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup that raised more than $650,000 for the hospital. Also in Canada, he supports a Vancouver group which raises millions of dollars for non-profit organizations.

Future goals for the busy Genovese involve working harder and enjoying life to the fullest. His challenge is to meet other positive thinkers who agree that life is meant to be fulfilling and wonderful in every aspect.

“Who has more fun than we do?” he asks. “I say this to everyone I meet, every single day!”
