MAKING ITALIAN DESIGNER-FURNITURE BEAUTIFUL, FUNCTIONAL AND DURABLE, AND THEN MARKETING IT TO THE PICKY SOUTH FLORIDA MARKET, IS A CHALLENGE, BUT KNOWING THE PRODUCTS THEY HAVE, ENTREPRENEURS ALEX XAKOUSTIS, ANDREA SUBOTOVSKY AND DEBORAH NAIERMAN ARE TAKING UP THAT CONTEST CONFIDENTLY.

When Italian design meets functionality, it’s a surefire hit. Alex Xakoustis realized that the luxury residential market of South Florida was underserved when it came to high-end cabinetry. Having what was needed at hand, and with the desire to fill this gap, Alex founded Italkraft, offering well-designed, high-end kitchens, bathrooms and closets. He set up headquarters in Miami, and immediately began offering his exclusive designs, always with a unique style in mind.
Alex explains that “functionality needs to be prevalent in the home, without sacrificing design or any meticulous attention to detail.” For him, a typical South Florida kitchen is the heart of a home; every family member and guest wants to be connected to it, and ultimately, every conversation ends up there. In regards to functionality, he believes that living rooms and common areas require sleek closet cabinetries, clutter-free designs, and the latest finishes. Such fine attention to detail and his understanding of the dynamics of South Florida homes, combined with his quest to elevate standards of living, Alex Xakoustis went all in, confidently. As a result, his company hit it off well, so much so that he opened a wholesale division that caters to luxury condo projects. His current large-scale business plans include the enormous Brickell City Centre, Auberge Fort Lauderdale, Glass Miami Beach, Regalia, and other elegant developments that are in tune with exceptional design and craftsmanship. His company also offers a retail division, creating personalized ensembles for single-family homes. This way, he felt, he would serve all high-end projects, be they condos or private houses.
Lucky for Alex Xakoustis, he later met two design entrepreneurs in the form of Andrea Subotovsky and Deborah Naierman. Xakoustis offered this dynamic and efficient team the opportunity to open a store in Aventura. They were enthusiastic about joining him and didn’t pass up the chance to finally work together, embellishing and modernizing living spaces. Today, in the heart of Aventura, these two top class businesswomen run the show. With similar backgrounds, the full-time working moms with more than 14 years experience in high-end Italian furnishings, have opened Italkraft Aventura, where they put together designs, visit job sites, and offer personalized customer service.
The 3,000 square-foot store opened in the spring of 2015. It is carefully and tastefully designed, presenting exquisite Italian brands that cater to various budgets. With meticulous ergonomic planning, Italkraft Aventura is focused on combining functionality with elegance while still offering competitive rates. Customers can conveniently look at existing designs, brainstorm ideas with Andrea and Deborah, and ultimately, have their dream kitchens, cabinetries and doors customized synergistically. This is the business approach that has made Italkraft break into the market quickly.
Just as Alex Xakoustis suspected, his project was a hit, because as he sees it “when function meets Italian design, everything falls into place. Today’s homeowner requires space-saving solutions with beautiful combinations of colors, finishes and forms, to epitomize what South Florida living is all about: simplicity, elegance and functionality.”
Meanwhile, Andrea and Deborah couldn’t be happier: “We are on a roll, and we love what we do.” They now have a long list of future plans that not only translates into personal growth for them, but also for the South Florida business world, that greatly benefits from the energy and creativity of its dedicated entrepreneurs.
